Amami Oshima is an isolated island located to the south of Japan, situated between Kagoshima mainland and Okinawa Island. This island is characterized by a mild climate and extensive area, requiring several days to explore its entirety. About 85% of the island is covered in forests, featuring numerous mountains, with cars being the main transportation. Amami Oshima boasts unique flora and fauna typical of remote islands, and its traditional culture is also unique.

How to get Amami Oshima?

The means of reaching Amami Oshima are primarily by airplane or ferry. Flights from major cities such as Tokyo, Osaka, and Fukuoka take approximately 2 to 2.5 hours. On the other hand, ferries departing from Kagoshima or Okinawa involve a journey of around 11 to 12 hours.
