Hello everyone!
I will introduce the first aid kit that I always carry during tours on Amami Oshima. Nature tours take place in nature, and it’s unpredictable what might happen at any time. Therefore, I carry tools that anticipate possible injuries.
Let me introduce each item I have prepared:

- Gauze
- Bandage
- Triangular bandage
- Safety pins
- Scissors
- Disposable gloves
- Alcohol cotton
- Wet wipes
- Cotton swabs
- Tweezers
- Tape
- Aluminum blanket
- Whistle
- Poison remover
Regarding the last item, poison remover, I carry it in case of a snake bite, as Amami Oshima has Habu snakes. Fortunately, I have never had to use it. If bitten, I would perform first aid by extracting the venom.
Injuries during tours can happen, so we conduct thorough advance inspections, and gear preparation, and communicate essential information to customers to minimize risks. However, despite these efforts, accidents or injuries cannot be eliminated, so we also undergo lifesaving training and carry a first aid kit like this to be prepared.

今回は、奄美大島でのツアーに必ず携帯しているファーストエイドキットのご紹介をします。ネイチャーツアーは自然の中で行うツアーですので、いつ何が起こるかわかりません。そのため、考えられる怪我に想定した道具を持ち歩いています。準備しているものを一つずつご紹介します。

最後のポイズンリムーバーですが、奄美大島はハブがいるため万が一噛まれた時に備えて持ち歩いています。実際に噛まれたことがないのでまだ使ったことはありません。もし噛まれた場合、毒を吸い出して応急処置を行います。ツアー中の怪我は起こり得るものです。そのため、私たちは事前の下見やギアの準備、お客様に伝える内容をしっかり精査した上でツアーを行い、リスクを下げる活動をしています。しかし、それでも事故や怪我が起こる可能性は完全には無くせないので、救命講習を受けたり、このようなファーストエイドキットを携帯して備えています。
